KitchenAid Introduces New Line of Black Stainless Steel Appliances

The company’s first collection to launch globally includes a feature that KitchenAid officials are calling an industry first: black stainless steel
The new Black Stainless finish provides a fresh contrast against the traditional stainless steel. KitchenAid's new stainless hardware on white and standard black will see a nice play on the previous black ice and and white ice appliances.
“Like traditional stainless, black stainless steel has a satiny luster, paired with a modern sleekness that makes its own style statement,” Patrick Schiavone, global vice president of design for parent company Whirlpool Corp., said in a press release.“It allows design nuances of both the appliances and the kitchen itself to pop.”
KitchenAid’s designers created the line around the brand’s timeless Stand Mixer and other longtime small appliances while incorporating elements fitting for a modern, sophisticated kitchen.

“The hints of chrome, the professionally inspired feel and function, and even the way they’re badged as KitchenAid products made our small appliances a natural starting place for the creative process,” said Jason Tippetts, design lead for KitchenAid.

“Coupled with current consumer insights and feedback from kitchen design and culinary professionals, elements of these much-loved products were applied holistically across the entire major-appliance collection.”Black stainless steel isn’t the only new aspect of the collection.

Consumers will benefit from new or improved performance features in certain products, such as a nine-in-one, dynamic wash arm in four of the new dishwasher models that allows water to reach every area inside the machine, and new ventilation options for oven hoods.

The line will be available to U.S. consumers in April.
